Tillandsia

Tillandsia- air plants are fascinating plants as they do not grow in soil.

They are very easy to care for but do require watering. It is commonly recommended that you mist your air plant several times a week. Alternatively our tried and tested method has delivered great results over the years and and should be carried out weekly or fortnightly dependent on how dry your home is. We suggest taking a bowl of rain water that has been allowed to come up to room temperature and completely submerge your air plant and leave for several hours. Once the plant has been saturated, remove from the water and shake out all excess water from inside of the plant. This next bit is important, dry the air plant upside down for around 8 hours as water pooling inside the plant can lead to it rotting. Every few months we suggest adding a very diluted orchid feed to the water which will promote flowering and the production of small air plant pups.
